PREVIEW: Róisín O – Hold On.

Today sees the release of singer-songwriter Róisín O‘s new video, Hold On. Having just returned from a fourteen-date US headline tour, Róisín will soon be heading off to Germany with Ryan Sheridan to support him on a seventeen-date tour. In the midst of all this she has also announced the release of her highly-anticipated début album The Secret Life Of Blue in central Europe having signed to German-based label JSM.

The touching video for Hold On was directed and edited by Simon Eustace and stars Aaron Heffernan (Love/Hate), Mirjana Rendulic, Geraldine McAlinden & Colin Condon. In a thoughtful press release, Róisín explains the roots of the song as being inspired by “our minds taking [sic] us to dark places and it gets hard to escape. A very close friend of mine was going through a tough time, as happens us all, and I found myself wanting, but unable, to help make things better for him. Sometimes all you can do for someone is to be there for them and let them know that things will get better one day. This song is for him.”

Róisín O’s first Irish headline date of the year will be at Whelan’s on Friday, 18th October. Tickets can be bought for €12 from WaV Tickets and support on the night comes from Matt Walters. It has the makings of an excellent night so be sure to get yourself down there to support another fantastic Irish talent!
