Yesterday afternoon, electro-folkies Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeroes, dropped the first single from their soon-to-be third album, due out on July 23rd. In the press release, lead singer Alex Ebert has described the self-titled 12 track as “the rawest, most liberated, most rambunctious stuff we’ve done.” and it will follow their two very successful albums, 2009’s Up From Below and last year’s Here.
The single, Better Days, harks back to the ’60s with glorious harmonies and bold percussion. Like almost all of their songs, it catapults you straight into a joyous, summertime dream, so here’s hoping they’re planning a European tour in between a plethora of US festival dates!
Take a listen to Better Days below.
