If you think you know The Riptide Movement, think again! A recent appearance on TG4 has demonstrated that Dublin’s homegrown heroes are well capable of writing solid pop songs. It’s a brand new track called Animal and you can check out the performance below.
It doesn’t sound quite like anything we’ve heard from them before, and I’ll admit that at first I really wasn’t quite sure what to make of it. Less than ten minutes later however, I found myself humming the chorus away to myself; it may take some adjusting to, but it’s a keeper!
The lads have also announced that they’re returning to the studio next week to start work on their next album, accompanied by the one and only Ted Hutt, a British producer renowned for his work on The Gaslight Anthem’s The ’59 Sound and American Slang, as well as The Dropkick Murphys’ Going Out In Style. 2013 is shaping up to be a great year for TRM so make sure to keep up with them on Facebook and Twitter!
The Riptide Movement are playing Barn Dance this Friday 29th March.
